NU Threads is Northwestern’s shared formalwear closet, aimed at alleviating the burden that socioeconomic status disparity places on student involvement in professional and extracurricular activities. NU Threads rents out suits, formal shirts, blouses, ties, etc. to Northwestern undergraduate students for interviews, information sessions, interview workshops, networking events, etc. for free. NU Threads is aimed at making sure that all undergraduate students are fully prepared for these professional events: Northwestern students work so hard for their grades, work experience, etc. so now, not having appropriate formalwear cannot be a reason that students are anything except fully prepared for these formal events.
