• Who can rent clothes from NU Threads?
    • Any Northwestern undergraduate student with a valid Wildcard (please bring your Wildcard to pick up clothes).
  • What items do you have in the NU Threads closet?
    • Everything from full suits, to shirts, ties, blouses, briefcases, portfolios, and more! Visit our tagged categories (under the “Merchandise” section to the right of this page) to see images of the clothing.
  • How long do I get to keep my rented clothes for? Can I renew my rental?
    • You can keep your clothes for 10 days, and cannot renew your rental at this time.
  • How many items can I rent at once?
    • Students can rent up to one full outfit at a time: one suit, one pair of shoes, one tie.
  • Can I rent clothes if they are not for an interview?
    • Yes, you can also rent clothes for information sessions, corporate coffee chats, networking events, presentations, and interview workshops, and other events that require formal attire.
  • Where can the clothes be picked up?
    • The clothes can be picked up from the Northwestern Career Advancement office, at 620 Lincoln Street, Evanston, IL 60201.
  • What if I lose or do not return the clothes?
    • Upon renting, you will sign an agreement that explains exactly what the contingencies are if clothes are not returned in original condition. This rental agreement can be found here.
  • How much does it cost to rent from NU Threads?
    • Nothing! It’s free! You just have to pay for dry-cleaning at one of our recommended cleaners so you get a great student discount.
  • How do I know who these dry-cleaners are?
    • Visit our list of these businesses!
  • How do I know what size I am?
    • We have sizing guides in the closet that can help you out. Also, clothes can be tried on before renting.
